What is Kabbalat Shabbat

Imagine a Shabbat table: a white tablecloth, glowing candles, a glass of wine, and fresh challah. Now add a vibrant community of Israelis, locals, and new friends, gathering to sing, share insights from the weekly Torah portion, and create a sense of home.

Our events are informal, family friendly, and engaging: children play, adults connect, and everyone enjoys activities like trivia quizzes or communal singing, creating a warm space for togetherness and cultural connection.

Why do we do this

The JCC Prague hosts Kabbalat Shabbat about every six weeks.
