Jewish Communities
in Prague
Prague’s Jewish communities have been the heart of Jewish life in the city for centuries. They preserve traditions, offer religious services, and create cultural and educational programs that keep Jewish identity alive in the Czech Republic.
Today, Jewish life in Prague reflects a rich spectrum: from Orthodox congregations rooted in history to Reform and Conservative communities, and networks for young Jews and Israelis who have made Prague their home. Each plays a role in connecting people to heritage through prayer, cultural events, and shared experiences.

VISION
The power of collaboration
At JCC Prague, our vision is simple: be the bridge. We work hand-in-hand with local Jewish organizations to strengthen Jewish identity, celebrate culture, and create spaces where everyone feels welcome.
From sharing event information to hosting joint celebrations, our goal is to strengthen Jewish identity and foster dialogue between communities.
What we do together
Here are a few moments that shaped us:
Yom Ha’atzmaut Celebration
Along with the Jewish Community of Prague, Israelis and Czechs came together for an unforgettable Independence Day. Israeli food, Czech melodies, and shared stories created a celebration where diversity became strength.

Hineni Exhibition
A collaborative exhibition with the Jewish Federation in Prague showcasing works created through encounters between Czech and Israeli artists in response to the events of October 7. The exhibition highlights the power of creativity and and solidarity.

Purim Party
Our very first Purim celebration for children, organized in partnership with Chabad House and Netaim from Israel. Over 140 adults and kids joined us for games, creative stations, and costumes, creating a joyful and inclusive holiday experience.
